For Inquiring Minds
A Palauan born and nurtured in Guam. Most of my experience in IT is with network administration of Windows based networks. I’ve got some programming experience working with visual basic and have done some intermediate to advanced database design and management with MS Access and SQL Server. First and foremost in my life is my relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and how I use that relationship to touch those around me. I am a single parent of one daughter (Hope, 8 years old), but am fortunate to have the support of two very supportive parents and a network of people around me who make it possible.
This blog was started as a result of an exercise in IT research. I had never worked with a LAMP server in the past, so I was curious as to how difficult it would be to set one up. Up to that point, I’d done little in terms of web related IT work and most of my experience was in the Microsoft world. However, I did have a laptop at home that dual booted Windows XP Home and Ubuntu Hardy Heron. So I did some research and realized how easy it was to setup a LAMP stack in Ubuntu; even the desktop version. So like happens to everyone else, one thing led to another and next thing I know I’m wrestling with myphpAdmin to get Wordpress running on my laptop and requesting a static IP from my ISP so I can register ymesei.com… Okay so maybe that doesn’t happen to everyone, but it sure seemed like a natural progression of events to me and I’m glad that I did it.
This is alot of fun and I hope that some of you can at least enjoy the ridicule you might be entitled to cast on me at my expense. Enjoy!!!
